Vaishno Devi Yatra by Helicopter Itinerary

Day 1 Jammu - Sanji Chatti - Vaishno Devi

Jammu Airport serves as both the starting and concluding point for the yatra. Upon your arrival at the airport early in the morning, our tour agent will warmly welcome you. Following the necessary security procedures, you will be transported to your accommodation at Chesterfield. Subsequently, passengers will be transferred to the helicopter that will carry them to the Sanji Chatt Helipad, designated specifically for the Vaishno Devi Yatra.

Upon arrival at Sanjichat, a guide will lead you to Bhawan on foot, a journey that takes approximately half an hour and covers a distance of 2.5 km from the helipad. For those who prefer not to walk, there are options such as Palki/Doli and the newly introduced ropeway services to cover the distance.

After the Darshan is completed, our guides will escort each passenger back to the Sanji Chatt Helipad, from where they will board the helicopter for the return journey to Jammu Airport. Upon reaching Jammu Airport, passengers will be directed to a lounge, marking the conclusion of the one-day Vaishno Devi Yatra by Helicopter.

The Vaishno Devi shrine welcomes devotees throughout the year. However, the best times for darshan are during Winter (October to March) and the monsoon (July to August). The original holy cave opens in December and January, providing a unique and ethereal experience. To ensure a convenient darshan, it's advisable to book the helicopter service at least 4 days in advance. On-the-spot helicopter service from Katra to Sanjichhat is also available at the current heli ticket counter with valid ID proof and travel documents.

The temple operates from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, while the helicopters run until 7:00 pm. It would be best to plan your darshan in the morning or daytime.

The helicopter service starts at 8:30 am and remains active until 7:00 pm, with helicopters taking off approximately every 20 minutes from both Katra and Sanjichhat. The choice between morning or evening rides depends on your preference.

To obtain a VIP darshan at the Bhawan, you need a VIP pass. Notably, a helicopter ticket for the Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra route is considered a VIP pass, as opposed to a one-way ticket from Katra to Sanjichhat or vice versa.
