The religious significance of the trinity of gods – Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh – is unmatched in Hinduism as they are known as the creator, preserver, and destroyer. This trinity can be easily experienced through a quick same day Do Dham Yatra to Kedarnath and Badrinath by helicopter. The Do Dham Yatra by helicopter from Dehradun is the best traveling option for those with busy schedules.
It is believed among Hindus that visiting the holy abodes of Kedarnath and Badrinath wash away their sins and offer Moksha, or liberation from the cycle of reincarnation. Therefore, they want to visit these holy sites and carrying out the requisite rituals and prayers to cleanse their minds and bodies from negative energies.
Additionally, the trek to the Kedarnath Temple and Badrinath Temple allows devotees to explore the majestic scenery of the Himalaya ranges. Therefore, Do Dham Yatra to Kedarnath and Badrinath is considered as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in Hinduism.
The Do Dham Yatra by helicopter is a more expedited iteration of the conventional pilgrimage. However, rather than completing this challenging journey on foot, travelers shall book a helicopter ride to reach these holy destinations.
About Kedarnath Temple
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the journey to Kedarnath Temple is a highly spiritual trip for Shaivites and other devotees. Perched at lofty heights of 3583 meters above sea level, the Kedarnath trip truly tests the endurance and faith of the pilgrims. The shrine holds immense spiritual significance in Hinduism, because not only it is one of the Char Dhams, it’s also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Established by the 8th-century saint Adi Shankaracharya, Kedarnath Yatra is also one of the most explored Char Dham destinations.
While you are in Kedarnath, you can visit a plethora of other sites nearby. Notable mentions include Gaurikund, Chorabari Tal, Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya, and Vasuki Tal. And for those who love adventure, Kedarnath serves as a trekking haven. Not only the trekking here is both a little challenging as well as rewarding experience, but the stunning snowy Himalayan vistas make the trip every bit worthwhile.
About Badrinath Temple
Situated at a high altitude of 3100 metres and nestled in the serene Chamoli district, the holy town of Badrinath is home to one of the most sacred temples in entire Hinduism. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Badrinath Temple is the final destination in a Chardham tour. The natural beauty around the temple is one of the major draws of the sacred Dham for it is surrounded by green alpine meadows and snowy mountains. Lakhs of devotees visit the abode of the Almighty every year to seek his blessings.
Apart from the Badrinath Temple, the region is home to numerous other religious sites, such as the Tapt Kund, a hot spring with some medicinal properties. In addition, there is Narad Kund, a small lake popular among tourists for its hot water spring. This lake has been named after Narad Muni and is believed to cure several skin diseases.

Health Advisory
Both Kedarnath and Badrinath Dhams are located between 10500 ft – 11500 ft surrounded by breathtaking sceneries. Kedarnath Dham is situated at 11500 ft. Since the duration of the Do Dham yatra is only one day, you won’t get much time to acclimatize yourself therefore you should always catch your breath and go slow. If you exert yourself, you may develop acute mountain sickness (AMS) which may affect the lungs and brain.
Some of the common high-altitude ailments include acute mountain sickness (AMS) which is a common type of mountain sickness that occurs after ascending to altitudes above 2500 m. Some of the symptoms that you may experience include breathing problems, nausea, vomiting, headache, loss of appetite, fatigue, weakness, difficulty sleeping, and dizziness. Another ailment includes High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE) which is a severe form of AMS. It is caused due to brain tissue swelling which may hamper the brain eventually. The illness often occurs at night and can even lead to death/coma within hours. Some of its symptoms include headache, fatigue, swelling of brain tissue, visual impairment, bowel dysfunction, bladder dysfunction, partial paralysis, and disorientation.
You may also experience High Altitude Pulmonary Edema resulting in respiratory failure because of the fluid accumulation in the lungs. HAPE typically starts at night (when you climb in high-altitude areas on the second night of climbing). This ailment progresses rapidly and in the worst cases leads to fatality within hours. Some of its symptoms include shortness of breath even while relaxing, bright red stained sputum, persistent dry cough, weakness, fatigue, congestion, drowsiness, chest tightness, and increased heart rate. If you’re young you will be more susceptible to this ailment.

Guidelines for Passengers
- 1. Both Badrinath and Kedarnath are located at high altitudes which experience cold temperatures and unpredictable weather. Therefore, passengers are advised to bring warm layers like jackets, woolen clothes, thermal wear, etc. In addition, also carry rain gear like umbrella, raincoat, etc.
- 2. Both the Dhams suffer from oxygen deficiency. Therefore, it’s recommended for the pilgrims to carry disposable oxygen bottles. This comes especially handy when experiencing breathlessness.
- 3. The helicopter flights run on fixed timings. Therefore, passengers need to show up on time, otherwise, they’ll be considered a “No Show”.
- 4. It’s compulsory for every passenger to attend the tour briefing provided by our crew. It will be conducted on the day of your arrival. In the same session, we’ll provide duffel bags to all the onboarding passengers and also measure their weights.
- 5. Passengers are recommended to wear comfortable clothes. Also, wear sneakers/sports shoes. Avoid wearing floaters and slippers.
- 6. Do not take pictures once you are inside the Dham temples. You can carry your phones there but photography is strictly prohibited.
- 7. Passengers who are traveling by helicopter can avail of a VIP Darshan, which lets them seek Darshan from inside the temple – Garbha Griha. However, if there’s a heavy rush in the temple, the passengers might be restricted to do Darshan from outside only.
- 8. It’s mandatory for every Indian pilgrim to carry a photo ID card. Documents like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, and Driving License are ideal for it. Foreign nationals need to produce their passports.
- 9. Due to unpredictable weather and emergency situations, it’s best to keep a spare day in your itinerary while planning your trip.
- 10. If due to bad weather or any other emergency situation, one or more Dham couldn’t be visited, we’ll attempt to complete the journey on the next day. And if for some reason, even that couldn’t be done, then we’ll refund the unutilized amount as per our refund policy.
Policy & Terms
To ensure smooth operations, we have established some policies in place. There are also some rules and regulations imposed by the flight authorities to keep the helicopter rides safe and sound. Here are the terms and policies:
- Rescheduling Policy: Our customers are eligible to reschedule their tour date as long as they request it at least 15 days before the trip commences. If these conditions are followed and there’s availability of dates, then we’ll cancel your current tour, and book a new one.
- Infant Policy: If you have an infant (less than 2 years of age) with you, then he/she can travel free of cost. Parents need to provide their birth certificates though. However, the weight of the infant will reduce the total weight a helicopter can carry in a single trip.
- Weight Policy: A helicopter can carry a maximum weight of 450 kg in a single trip. If the total passenger weight exceeds this limit, then the pilgrims who weigh more than 75 kg have to pay the additional charges. If there’s any discrepancy found in the actual weight and the weight provided by the passenger earlier, then that passenger would get deboarded and their flight will be cancelled without any refunds.
- Luggage Policy: Passengers are not allowed to carry big bags/suitcases on the flight. To take your belongings with you, we’ll provide a duffel bag which you can fill up to 5 kg – maximum permissible weight limit.
- Flight Arrangement: Helicopter authorities have to follow weight restrictions. Therefore, to ensure the safety and security of everyone, the authorities reserve the right to shuffle passengers. Therefore, pilgrims who are travelling together, might not be able to sit together on the flight.
